Room Spotlight – Manse Suite Living Room

Close your eyes for a moment and picture the most comfortable, well designed hotel suite you’ve ever seen — whether that’s in person or in pictures. How does it make you feel? Cozy? Awed? Inspired? These are things every interior designer considers when they first start working on a space. And we recently had the chance to consider exactly this while curating new furniture for The Manse in Picton.

The Manse reached out to us to give their lower-level suite a bit of a refresh. They were looking for classic, yet durable, pieces that were warm and inviting. Classic, because the Inn’s overall aesthetic leans more towards this style, and durable, because it’s an inn and by nature, their furniture will see a lot of use. That’s why we chose pieces that are easy to clean and maintain.

We wanted to set this space apart from the rest of the beautifully appointed Inn. To do that, we added a bit of contrasting modern flare, making the suite its own special retreat.

The sofa is a beautiful dark colour that contrasts with the light walls. It has slipcovers that are easy to remove and toss in the wash.

The rug is both an indoor and an outdoor rug, which means if there is an unfortunate stain, the entire thing can be taken outside and hosed off!

Finally, these comfortable chairs. We went an "airy" look, so they don't take up too much visual space in this compact room.
