Leave room in your schedule on Mother’s Day for an afternoon of conversation. Whether you have your mom over or go to her place for tea (or coffee or drink of your choice), you can also create a cozy place to have your afternoon of conversation.

Set up your chosen convo space with few soft toss cushions, as we call them, (browse ours here) and a cozy throw blanket or two (browse ours here), then add a bouquet of fresh-picked flowers, and you’re all set to spend the afternoon with mom. 

Set up a picture-perfect space

Family photos are a lovely gift to give your mother. They capture a moment in time, where the whole family is gathered around. Organize your whole family to meet up at your place to take the photo over the weekend — of course, you’ll want a picture-perfect space for that, too!

Clean and rearrange your living room, setting it up so that there’s one area that can fit the whole family. Stage that area with a solid background (maybe that’s a wall or curtained window), and some attractive accent pieces (plants, coffee tables, shelving).

Pro tip: Arrange room behind the seating so that you can layer your photo with two or three levels: People standing behind the chairs, sitting on the couch, and kneeling or sitting on the floor. After the photos are taken, have them printed and framed for a memorable gift for each family member.
